I am Candace M. Goggans, CMP and the CEO ( Chief Events Officer) and Founder of Events by Candace Michelle. With event activations I provide follow through and execution via dynamic event and strategic meeting planning organization for associations, non profits, and small businesses. I am a collaborative thought partner while working alongside companies such as United Negro College Fund, Inc and Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Inc.
My 13+ years of event expertise varies from the collegiate, business associations, and non-profit sector. A native of Cleveland, Ohio I got my start in the event field at Georgia State University. My professional journey relocated me to Philadelphia, PA where I worked at the Wharton School of Business at UPENN on the events team in the Alumni Development office. Wanting to be closer to family and friends, I ventured to Washington, DC and worked at the Society for General Internal Medicine (SGIM), UNCF, and Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Clearly, it became a prerequisite to work at places with acronyms.
When I am not masterminding and executing events, I can be found planning my next adventure around the world, daydreaming that I am a contestant on Top Chef, and soaking in the warmth of the sun while relaxing in nature.
Event + Project Management + Stakeholder Management is a complex design build due to copious moving parts. It takes a dynamic individual to understand and apply the processes, methods, skills, knowledge, and experience to achieve specific event objectives. My approach has proven me to be an unflappable and flexible thought partner, who overcomes friction when things start to bog down. In other words, I moonlight as a Physicist known to battle with the laws of quantum physics, especially Chaos theory. As an undergrad psychology major, I’m making my parents proud by finally utilizing my degree by dabbling in psychology when it comes to motivating people to do things they simply don't want to do, and chemistry when it comes to putting the right team together.
